It’s FRIDAY! That means it’s time for another Summer Flashback, a fun blog hop created by Tammy’s Two Cents. Today we’re sharing our favorite childhood foods. This could be a very long entry, food lover that I am. So to keep it short I’ll just list a few favorite foods from my childhood, aside from my mom’s homemade lasagna, my dad’s barbeque and my grandma’s glunkies (all made from scratch). For those, there’s no contest.
What were you childhood favorites?
- Ice Pops – What kid doesn’t love these?!
- Toast with Grape Jelly – Had to be grape jelly though!
- Squirrel Ice Cream – Apparently it was easier to say than “swirl.” Go figure.
- Fluffernutter – If you’ve never had one, go make one right now! Seriously.
- Crappy Crunch – Or more commonly known as Cap’n Crunch. I asked my mom one day why she never corrected me. She thought it was “cute.” hmmmm
- Whoppers – Crunchy, chocolatey goodness!
believe it or not I never had the fluffernutter but always heard about it. I absolutely LOVED and still do Whoppers. Capt N Crunch was something we always had but I preferred Lucky Charms or Kellogg’s squares. hehe. I still get ice pops for my kids.
You have to try one! So yummy!
I also have never had Fluffernutter. Hmmm…. LOVE Whoppers. Can’t stand grape jelly. Eck. Raspberry or strawberry here. Loved this.
That’s how I feel about strawberry! So funny how tastes can be so different. 🙂
I <3 Squirrel Ice cream 🙂
ME TOO! 🙂
Cap’n Crunch is one of the few things I loved as a child that I really don’t care for now that I’m an adult. My tastes have matured quite a bit since my grade school days. I’m more of a Cookie Crisp guy now.
I haven’t had it in years. I bet I would still like it though!
Ha Ha…squirrel ice cream! 🙂 We had a little mom and pop hamburger joint and it was a special treat to get to go there for “squirrel” ice cream! 🙂
I <3 squirrel ice cream! 🙂
I have heard of fluffernutter either 🙂
But love some “squirrel” ice cream!!
You are missing out!!!
I love fluffernutters! I used to eat them all the time. It’s hard to find Fluff down here where I live, and I miss it!
Oh no! Maybe you can order some online!
