I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Magisto. I received a promotional code for premium features to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. All opinions in this blog entry are my own.
If there’s one thing I’m guilty of as a parent, it’s taking way more photos and videos of our little diva than is probably necessary. Of course, modern smartphone technology makes it pretty easy to capture those memories and, for that, I am grateful.
I’ve tinkered with several apps that allow me to edit and share my library of photos and video, but one of the best I’ve found is Magisto Video Editor.
Magisto – available for iPhone, Android, and on the web – allows you to take multiple videos and photos and merge them together in one neatly-edited video collage complete with music. For a limited time (through the end of May), use the promotional coupon code “MomsRule” to receive three free downloads!
What’s awesome about Magisto, especially for tech-challenged moms like myself, is how easy it is to use. All you need to do is choose the photos and videos you want to use, select a theme and your video’s music (you can choose from their music library or upload your own song), and Magisto does the rest! You don’t even have to wait around while Magisto works its editing magic (which takes anywhere from five to 10 minutes) – they’ll send you an email when it’s ready.
Below is the video I created. Feel free to create your own and be sure to read the rest of this entry for details about Magisto’s partnership with Joan Osborne and the #MagistoMoms video contest!
Magisto has teamed up with multi-platinum selling recording artist and seven-time Grammy nominee Joan Osborne. Joan’s new song “Born To See You Through”, which celebrates her role as a mother, will be featured as a musical selection in the Mother’s Day challenge when participants create their movies that tell “Why I love being a Mom” or “Why I love my Mom.”
From now until May 17, 2013, all Magisto-created movies that include the hashtag #MagistoMoms in their title will be entered to win special prizes. Videos will be shared and available for viewing on a Mother’s Day-themed social scrapbook that will be hosted on the Magisto website. The users whose movies get the most likes on Magisto will win prizes that include a Samsung Galaxy Note Tablet, Joan Osborne CDs, and 1-year Magistro Pro upgrades.
Magisto’s Mother’s Day challenge coincides with the first annual Mother’s Day benefit concert hosted by Osborne May 12th to benefit the Somaly Mam Foundation and Save the Children. For inspiration, feel free to check out the featured Mother’s Day videos on the Magisto website.
I don’t think you can ever have too many photos. It’s better to have to many than to look back and realize you never took enough.
I’m with Angela. I don’t think there’s such a thing as having too many photos. Well, unless you’re like an old classmate of mine and had 300 or more within the first couple weeks of your daughter being born. THAT might be excessive. lol
I like the hands-off nature of how it works! Sweet!
What a great idea! I’m always looking for apps to make life easier, and with a million photos and videos on my iPhone – this will definitely make things easy. Thanks for sharing!
How awesome! I love turning my pictures into movies on the computer, I wish I had an iphone though!
