I know what you’re thinking. — Really? You’re telling us how to get a glass of soda? — Well it’s not that easy in our household sometimes. Here’s what happened yesterday afternoon. When you have a toddler and a dog that qualifies as a canine senior citizen, it’s par for the course.
- Walk into kitchen
- Listen as 2 tiny feet come stomping toward you and the owner is yelling “milk milk”
- Get sippy cup out of cupboard
- Pour milk and hand it off
- Get soda out
- Step in dog slobber
- Clean up dog slobber and wipe off your feet
- Try not to gag
- Wash hands
- Shoo both toddler and senior citizen out of the kitchen
- Get cup and pour soda
- Sit down
- Realize you put the milk in the cupboard, not the fridge
- Put milk where it belongs
- Listen as a splash and clatter hit the living room floor
- Clean up your drink
- Wipe off toddlers feet
- Wash sticky soda off your hands
- Sit down and realize you still have no drink
- Make mental note to drink fast next time
Been there done that!!!! I love the dog!!!
lol! We’re all in this together!
Everytime I try to get a drink, or sneak chocolate, at least one of my kids hears me and comes bounding in asking if they can have some too. On the upside, it does help to keep my weight down, since it’s usually not worth the aggravation of getting a round of treats for everyone!
haha! Glad I’m not the only one!
