This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pep Boys. All opinions are 100% mine.
I’m a nut when it comes to making sure our car is as safe as possible. That’s why, when I read about the hazards of yellowed, hazed or dull headlight covers, I immediately paused “General Hospital” and spent the next half an hour learning as much as I could about this mysterious automotive affliction.
First, I should admit that I had no idea that headlight lenses could become “yellowed, hazed, or dull.” I mean, I knew they could get dirty, but I figured a quick trip to the car wash would make them good as new. (And by “quick trip to the car wash,” I mean driving in a rain storm.)
But apparently headlights really can get dull and cloudy over time, and it can have a noticeable effect on the brightness of your car’s headlights. And with daylight savings time upon us (which means more driving in the dark) and nasty fall and winter weather approaching (I get queasy just thinking about it), it’s more important than ever to make sure you’ve got clear headlights for safer driving during the holidays and back-to-school season.
If you’ve got hazy headlights, you can either get them professionally cleaned or you can go the do-it-yourself route with something like the 3M™ Headlight Lens Restoration Kit (available at any Pep Boys location). Since the 3M kit is a fraction of the cost of hiring a pro and it requires no tools, you can imagine which option I’d recommend.
What I like most about the 3M™ Headlight Lens Restoration Kit is that it’s easy to use. And I don’t mean like the time my husband told me that it’s easy to change the oil in my car (it’s soooo not), I mean it really is easy to use. So easy, in fact, I was able to do it myself.
Long story short, if you’re a safety nut like me and you want to save a few bucks here and there, the 3M™ Headlight Lens Restoration Kit is the way to go. You can get it at Pep Boys, either headlight restoration online or Pep Boys stores. For a limited time, you can get a $5 mail-in rebate! While you’re there, go ahead and schedule an oil change – because trust me, you don’t want to do that yourself!
my husband’s car is his baby…he needs something like this…great review =]
Amazing what that restoration kit will do. I definitely need to get one of those. Thanks for sharing!
There isn’t a PepBoys near here! I’ll have to check it out next time I’m near one. Not sure either car needs it, but it would be nice to have on hand 😉
Those kits are amazing. We just did this last year and that was the first time I had heard of such a thing and it worked great!
My husband is a gearhead from the word go and a fan of 3M products. Might have to run to PepBoys to pick one of these up for my hubby.
I could use something like this. My car was brought down from MA and the lenses are foggy like your before pic, I think I’ll give it a try!
Too bad there isn’t a pep boys near me!
Ladies, You can order these online. The link is in the last paragraph “headlight restoration” 🙂
This is a great review. This is something I need to do as well. Loving this post.
How funny – hubby and I were just talking about the headlights in one of the cars the other night! Talk about perfect timing! LOL
Great review I didn’t know they had a headlight restoration kit.
I really need to try this! Our lights are not the greatest!
Glad you guys are finding this helpful! You would truly notice the difference!
