In any given week, our schedule might include rushing out the door to ballet practice, rushing out the door to soccer practice, rushing out the door to pre-school, rushing out the door to church, or me rushing out the door just to get away from it all. In all that rushing, it’s easy to forget the little things like turning off the iron, putting on pants, and grabbing a snack for the road. Most of the time, I remember the iron and pants, but I almost always forget the snack for our four-year-old. I’ve gone through many on-the-go snacks over the years, but have recently fallen in love with a tasty little nibble called Honey Maid Go Bites. Our four-year-old loves them, too! One of the best things about the Honey Maid Go Bites—besides being available in both chocolate and vanilla-flavored fillings—is that they’re loaded with whole grains. That’s good, because I’ve been on a whole grain kick recently. Kids growing bodies need whole grains, but less than 1% of children get the recommended amount of whole grains in their diets. Honey Maid Go Bites provide kids with about 15% of both the recommended daily value of whole grains (48g) AND protein (34g). They’ve also got no high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or colors. Of course, you’d expect a four-year-old to love something filled with chocolate and vanilla flavored fillings. What I didn’t expect was how much my husband would love them, too. He even joked that he might pour a big bowl of them and eat them for breakfast like cereal. At least I think he was joking. Yeah, he’s probably not joking. Bottom line, if you’re looking for an easy and tasty on-the-go snack, I definitely recommend Honey Maid Go Bites, which you’ll find at retailers nationwide. Just make sure you pick up a couple extra boxes, just in case your hubby decides to pour them in a bowl and eat them for breakfast. I’m waiting for it to happen…because it will.
