Is there anything better than making s’mores in the backyard with friends and family? Seriously, I’m asking, because I think the answer is no. Wanna know how I know? Because I created the ultimate s’mores bar in my backyard last week and it was pretty much the coolest thing ever.
My experiment in awesomeness started at Walmart, where I spotted a one-stop-shopping display loaded with Hershey’s Chocolate, Honey Maid Graham Crackers and Jet Puffed Marshmallows. Everything I need to make s’mores? How could I resist! I thought let’s Make S’Mores Tonight – any day can be a S’mores Day!
(Quick sidenote: I also bought some stuff to make a No-Bake S’mores Cheesecake. Check out the picture and recipe at the end of this entry!)
I grabbed the s’mores necessities, but I didn’t stop there. Oh no, I took s’mores to a whole new level and scored some major “coolest mom ever” points along the way. I decided to create an “Ultimate S’mores Bar,” complete with the usual ingredients – graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows – but also loaded with other s’mores toppings like Hershey’s Miniatures, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Planter’s nuts and bacon (oh yes! bacon!).
I even threw in some lemonade, cheese and crackers for folks to snack on in between s’mores. By the way, did you know Honey Maid makes square graham crackers and Kraft makes square marshmallows specifically for s’mores? I didn’t either, but I do now!
What you don’t see in the photo below is me holding back a small crowd of hungry friends and family members who were all eager to start s’moring it up. “Just wait a second…one more picture,” I said. Thankfully, they were well-behaved and patient.
Let me just say that creating an Ultimate S’mores Bar is a lot simpler than you think, and the points you’ll score are way higher than the effort you put into it. That’s a win-win right there, folks. And, of course, after you score all those points, you get to have a s’more (or two)!
First the most important ingredients!
Roasting the marshmallows! You don’t always need a campfire to make S’mores. You can pop them in the microwave for a few minutes. Easy peasy.
Yummy goodness!
And now for that recipe for No-Bake S’mores Cheesecake. S’mores PLUS cheesecake? Oh yeah, you’re gonna want some of this.
No-Bake S’mores Cheesecake
INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups Honey Maid Graham Cracker crumbs
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 container of Cool Whip Whipped Cream
- 2 8-ounce packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- ½ cup of sugar
- ¼ cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of Hershey’s Chocolate Chips\
DIRECTIONS
Mix graham cracker crumbs with one stick of melted butter. Press mixture into the bottom of a springform cheesecake pan. (This recipe is no-bake, but if you want to bake your crust in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees to give it a little extra firmness and crunch, go right ahead!)
Using a hand mixer, mix whipped cream, cream cheese, sugar and brown sugar until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips and then pour the mixture into the pan with your crust. (If you’re baking your crust, let it cool before adding your cheesecake mixture.)
Top cheesecake with marshmallows and a few extra chocolate chips and chill in the fridge for at least two hours before serving.
OH wow! What a fun way to serve s’mores! I love how easy this looks to set up and then let friends and family get creative with their s’mores ingredients! #client
