We’d been talking for months about getting the little diva her very own chair. Not that we mind it when she cuddles up with us on the couch, but since she’s already got her own craft table, it seemed like a chair was the next logical piece of furniture that a 21-month-old might need.
After considering the selection of miniature recliners at the usual stores, the hubby and I finally opened our eyes to a piece of beloved furniture from our own childhood (and college years): the bean bag chair. To get that bean bag chair, I turned to Bean Bag Chair Pros (of course!).

Back to the bean bag chair. Yes, I could have got one just about anywhere, but what I liked most about Bean Bag Chair Pros was the huge selection of chairs to choose from. Children’s bean bag chairs, small bean bag chairs, medium-sized bean bag chairs, giant bean bag chairs. Even bean bag couches. That’s right, bean bag couches.
I also liked that they had playful chairs – soccer balls, basketballs, an oversized baseball mitt, and an adorable flower-shaped chair – but they also had chairs there were a bit more understated. In other words, I wouldn’t mind making it a semi-permanent part of my living room decor.
We ended up choosing the rather sizable Jaxx Cocoon Jr. Foam Bean Bag Chair in lime. My husband liked it because it wasn’t pink, but also because it was large enough for him and the diva to cuddle up on and read books (although I suspect he also plans to appropriate it as a video game chair). I like it because it comes with an inner liner – which contains chunks of soft cushy foam, not the tiny pellets like some cheaper chairs – and a removable, machine-washable microsuede outer cover.
In other words, we all got something we wanted, even the diva, who loves to fall backwards on it and giggle uncontrollably.
