For most people, the period between September and January is known as “fall and winter” or the “holiday season.” But, in my family, it goes by a different name — football season. When we get together, we eat like linebackers, and I’m usually in charge of combing through my dessert recipes to bring something a little sweet to the party.
For our most recent gathering to watch some pre-season football action, I created a SNICKERS Brownie Football. (See the recipe at the bottom of this entry.) This legendary dessert is part cheesecake, part candy bar, part brownie and 100 percent DELICIOUS. My brother’s hot wings might get the party started in style, but this dessert would be the game-winning touchdown!
You’ll need four SNICKERS bars to make this recipe, but I decided to pick up a 48-count box of the bars at Sam’s Club. After all, it’s a long football season, which means the extra SNICKERS will definitely come in handy (plus, buying in bulk means you’ll save a few bucks!). While I was there, I also picked up a 105-count variety bag of MARS candy bars.
Like I said, you’ll only need four chopped SNICKERS for your dessert, but feel free to add an extra SNICKERS to up the ante a bit. While you’re at it, go ahead and unwrap a Milky Way from your MARS variety bag to snack on while you create your masterpiece!
One of the great things about this recipe (besides being super simple to make and super tasty, too), is that it’s very customizable. I used a caramel drizzle on mine, but you can use a chocolate drizzle, a strawberry drizzle, or no drizzle at all!
I paired my own SNICKERS Brownie Football with a cold glass of milk, but this dessert really goes with any drink. Coffee, tea, maybe a decaf soda…the choice is yours! And of course two forks to share with the diva!
My first attempt at making this dessert was an overwhelming success. How do I know? For once, everyone was talking about my dessert instead of raving about my brother’s hot wings or my dad’s sloppy joes. #Chocolate4TheWin #CollectiveBias
