If you’re like me, your first introduction to the wonderful world of Skinnygirl products was through their delicious line of low-cal cocktails. That was several years ago, and today the Skinnygirl brand has expanded to include all sorts of things, including one of my favorite snacking treats — popcorn!

Specifically, they make two flavors: Butter & Sea Salt and Lime & Salt. Both are super simple to make — just pop ‘em in the microwave — and both are delish. They use no artificial colors, no artificial flavors or sweeteners and, best of all, both Skinnygirl popcorns offer at least 20 percent fewer calories than other popcorns. In other words, low-calorie popcorn made with better ingredients for a balanced lifestyle.

I picked mine up at Walmart. (Hint: Don’t spend 20 minutes looking for them in the snack food aisle like I did. You’ll find the popcorn in a special section back with the soda!)

One of the other things I like about the Skinnygirl popcorns is the convenient, sensible size. Each box includes 10 (that’s right, TEN!) mini-bags, each of which provides the perfect amount of popcorn for a late night snack. Oh, and just 25 calories per cup popped. Yup, 25 calories.

Even though both flavors are super tasty on their own, I decided to spice up my Skinnygirl popcorn by adding a few extra ingredients without adding too many extra calories.

You can check out a list of 10 ways to spice up your popcorn at the bottom of this blog entry, but the first creation I made was a Buffalo Parmesan popcorn. My husband like this one the best, and even said, “This is so good, they should call it Skinny Guy!”

Next up, Cinnamon Sugar popcorn. This one was pretty simple to make: just a little melted butter, a dash of sugar (brown or white) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Naturally, our sweet-toothed four-year-old loved this one the most.

Finally, I made some Garlic Parmesan popcorn. It’s really easy to make – just garlic salt and some shredded Parmesan cheese. I love, love, love garlic (and Parmesan), so I knew I’d love this one. And guess what? I was right!
