My Husband the Plumber Tackles the Delta In2ition Showerhead

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Delta Faucets. I received a product sample and promotional item as a thank you for participating. All opinions in this blog entry are my own.

My husband, God bless him, isn’t exactly what you’d call a “handyman.” Oh sure, he can do the basic stuff – installing window air conditioners, fixing a leaky pipe under the sink, even changing the oil in the car – but when it comes to bigger projects, we usually have to call in a professional. (And usually before my husband tries doing it himself, which can turn a simple project into a very expensive and complicated one!)

So when I was chosen to be a Delta Faucet Brand Ambassador, which would require us to install a fancy new showerhead in our shower, I was reasonably sure my husband would be up to the task … I just wasn’t sure how many curse words he’d yell along the way. (Answer: Zero!)

You might remember from my first blog entry about the Delta In2ition shower head, that this is no ordinary shower accessory. The Delta In2ition features a showerhead and a removable handheld shower in one, combining the soothing comfort of a showerhead with the convenience of a handheld showerhead.

Thankfully, despite its many blissful features, the Delta In2ition is also a cinch to install. From beginning to end, the entire process took a whopping five minutes. Here’s how it was done:

  1. Remove old showerhead. You might need a wrench for this part. Throw old showerhead in the trash, which is probably where it should have went five years ago.
  1. Wrap plumber’s tape around the threads of the shower pipe that comes out of the wall. (The Delta In2ition comes with plumber’s tape.)
  1. Screw the Delta In2ition showerhead onto the pipe. You might need to give it a little tightening with the wrench. If you do, wrap the neck of the showerhead with a rag or towel to avoid scratching its beautiful finish!

And that’s it! No need to turn off the main water supply or keep a plumber on speed dial. For a look at just how easy the Delta In2istion is to install, check out the video I created below (that’s my suddenly handy hubby in the starring role). Also feel free to follow Delta online on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or Pinterest.

  1. This showerhead sounds amazing.

  2. Wow! That seems ridiculously easy! I always worry about my husband doing handyman work (of any kind) because of how big of a project a little thing can become when not done properly – and like you, how many curse words are going to be involved…lol. We really need a new shower head for our upstairs bathroom too – I’ll have to check this one out.

  3. The removable arm sounds great, and I might even be able to install myself.

  4. That’s definitely easier than I would have thought, and it’s very pretty. I like the wide showerhead!

  13. I would love to have a Delta shower head in my apartment! I’d definitely be the one doing the installation, though. My significant other tends to take shortcuts.

The shower head sounds great. My husband isn’t so much a plumber, so I would probably have to hire yours to install it for me! haha

  16. Now, that seems like even I could do it without a husband, which I do not possess at this very moment. I mean, it seems infallible. Did Delta make this super easy on purpose? Are all of their shower heads this easy to install? That is an awesome thing you’ve got showering down now!
