Now that our four-year-old is in pre-school, I’m always looking for ways to support our immune system and keep our family healthy, like taking Ester-C. Taken just once a day, Ester-C is the patented immune health formula that lasts longer than regular vitamin C and stays in your system for 24 hours. It’s carefully formulated to contain naturally occurring metabolites. Metabolites are a substance derived from other compounds (such as nutrients) during the process of metabolism. The metabolites in Ester-C help enhance the retention of Vitamin C by your white blood cells for 24 hours, which are a vital component of your immune system.

I picked up my Ester-C at Walmart, where you’ll find it in the vitamin aisle near the pharmacy.

A daily supplement like Ester-C is a great start, but it’s not the only thing you should be doing to stay healthy. Here are a few more tips to help keep you happy and healthy this winter:

CONTROL GERMS – If you’ve got a tissue handy, cough or sneeze into it to control the spread of germs. If you don’t have a tissue (which is almost always), cough or sneeze into your elbow. Grown-ups understand this, but it’s important to teach your kids this hands-free trick, too.

WASH YOUR HANDS – Hand washing is the single most effective way to ward off germs. To do it correctly, use warm water and soap, and scrub for at least 20 seconds. A good rule of thumb to help with the timing is to sing “Happy Birthday” twice.

KEEP IT CLEAN – Just because you’ve sneezed into your elbow and washed your hands, it doesn’t mean germs aren’t lingering in your house. To beat them, regularly disinfect common household surfaces that get touched regularly, including countertops, phones, keyboards, faucets, light switches, remote controls and doorknobs.

EAT WELL, SLEEP WELL – A balanced diet packed with plenty of fruits, veggies and vitamin-rich foods will help. So will getting plenty of sleep and exercise. Do all three, and you’ll feel great!

GET A CHECK UP –  Regular check-ups are imperative to stay healthy. Ask your doctor (that’s our in-house doc below!) about which vaccinations are needed and address any questions or concerns you have.

To support your immune system this winter, you should definitely pick up some Ester-C. It’s manufactured using a unique, water-based process that combines Vitamin C with Calcium using no chemical solvents. This unique, chemical-free manufacturing process neutralizes pH, making it non-acidic and gentler on the stomach than regular Vitamin C.

It’s available in 500mg and 1000mg tablets and 1000mb gummies. The tablets are non-GMO, 100% vegetarian, gluten free, and free of artificial flavors and colors. For updates and news, follow Ester-C on Facebook and Twitter. Also, don’t forget to download your coupon to save $1 on your next purchase!
